International Workshop: Basic techniques in current biology research
To reduce ”theory -practice gap” the need to give students a deeper understanding of a concept by creating an appropriate context is important. For that, the virtual lab workshop which is collaboration between Blida-1 University and Miriam Merad’s laboratory, at lcahn School of medicine at Mount Sinai, in New York City, allows to train young Algerian researchers to solve a scientific question following experimental approaches without stepping into a Physical laboratory.

​In this virtual lab the experiments performed are provided as an audio and streaming of an actual lab experiment, it is an introduction for Algerian students to scientific research aimed at teaching them how to raise and respond to a research question, which appropriate experimental approach to choose, and how to interpret the obtained results

The Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities (AGYA) offers its members the unique opportunity to realize interdisciplinary projects and joint initiatives at the interface of research, science policy, and capacity building. As AGYA members, early-career scholars can enhance their research portfolio and expand their international network through travel grants for interdisciplinary research stays in the Arab world and Germany.
AGYA welcomes applications from excellent scholars (3-10 years after Ph.D.) from all fields of the Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Technical Sciences, and the Arts affiliated with a university or research institution in Germany or any Arab country. Postdoc in plant-microbe interactions (ANR LEVEL-UP) M/F
