Algerian Women's Leadership In Science

We invite you to our online event to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science themed "Algerian women's leadership in science". For this second edition, we will focus on Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG5) which addresses gender equality and empowerment of women and girls.
SDG5 is one of the 17 goals set by the UN as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development which aims to end poverty, protect the planet and improve the lives and prospects of everyone.
The event will feature lectures from guests, and ALWIS members, and interactive sessions that will provide a platform for participants to engage and learn from leading Algerian female scientists.
We will be joined by two distinguished guests:
  • Karima Ait-Aissa, Ph.D., Assistant Professor at Lincoln Memorial University, USA
  • Djamila Douache, a Training engineer in Telecommunications and a Vendor management specialist, at Ericsson, Algeria
Join us this Saturday 11th February at 5 PM (GMT+1) to celebrate the International Day of Women & Girls in Science​

We organized an Instagram Live to help future Ph.D. candidate get guidance on how to increase their chances to win the Ph.D. contest. On Friday, December 23rd at 4 pm Algiers time. ALWIS leaders, Lina Amrani, Ph.D. candidate at the University of Malaya in Malaysia and Sakina Radia Didouche, Ph.D. candidate at the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumedien respectively share their experiences and advice on how to successed the next Ph.D. exam.

The One Hour Success Story: Episode 2

ALWIS MDs Community organized the second episode of the "one-hour success story". This time they traveled to the swinging city the home of the big ben, London to meet an astonishing Algerian doctor Dr. BELKHATIR KHADIDJA; a senior pediatric registrar at Wrexham park hospital.
This event that was held on Saturday 19th November at 7 pm gmt+1 with the purpose of learning from Dr. Belkhatir's path from Algiers to London.

Breast Cancer Awareness and Beyond

A lot of efforts have been put to raise awareness on breast cancer, yet it seems a perpetual battle against it. ALWIS had launched an e-awareness campaign since the beginning of October and to dive deeper on breast cancer on a medical and human level, ALWIS organized a panel discussion on Saturday, October 22nd at 7 pm (GMT+1) to discuss about breast cancer with our guests:
